Default Project TPI: Almost done....

Got the manifold, runners, plenum, t body and harness installed. Calling it quits for today. Just connect the ECU and get the fuel line hooked up... Project TPI is looking good Not out of the woods, as I am sure I will run into something..

Looks real good. Red definitely looks great on that plenum.

Can you tell us more about the air-filter set-up?

Brent...

Brent: The Air filter set up is an aftermarket set up for a C5. I did not run it over the radiator as sp[ace is limited and I did not want to cut my radiator support. I am going to utilize the original air duct (just chopped a bit to keep the cold air flowing over the rqadiator and to the filters. I thought I would try a Blackwing, but it did not fit as I expected. I may monkey around with it a bit, but I think I will keep these for now. They clear the serp set up by about 1 inch or so. I have hard flex hose for the radiator hose which will run under them. Am running dual electrics which will also pump air down as the radiator is angled (as all C3's are). It should work out ok. You may have noticed I kept the AIR pump as well. I had to as I am in CA and will be registering this as an engine swap. Car is not old enough for exemption yet. Other mods listed in my previous sig CAM, bored, crank, tranny, headers, etc... I also have 2 proms for the ECU, High performance and one for the Smog ****'s.
Ken over at http://www.firstinjections.com Helped and assisted quite a bit. Actually a whole lot. Got me everything I needed and a custom harness as well. He is great and highly recomended.

I have never seen the brand of T.P.I. unit you have where did you get it? It looks good, I'll be curious to hear how it runs. I'm looking forward to see future posts.

FIRST offered a TBI and TPI system, they're already out of business but their system has some very nice features. One of them is you can mount the TB at a 90 deg angle, the TPI plate you see on the side is a block off plate. The FIRST systems originally came w/ a controller and everything. They pop up on ebay every now & then. Noel Carboni runs one too.

I must say, I really like the way you detailed that system, very very sharp.

Thanks all: The company that patented the First Injection sysyem did go out. Ken over at FIRST bought the patents. You do not need to get one on EBAY. (Noel Carboni's web page says FIRST is out of business. It is old and out of date.. FIRST MANIFOLDS ARE STILL BEING MANUFACTURED!! Go to http://www.firstinjections.com and you can see what is offered. You can spend a little or alot. Price ranges from 995 and up depending what system and how much you want. And Ken is very good about custom tailoring things for you.

Ah, great they're made again. It ws kind of a shame to see AirSensor go.

I see on their page the controller and harness isn't the airsensors equivalent but that's no biggie, the electromotive should do the job fine
