outside door handle broken spring
The handle has been removed from the drivers side door and mechanism which pulls and pushes the rods to open and close the latch (Pivot mechanism) spring is broken. does any one know where I can purchase the spring only? The door handle itself is in good condition :mad

Don't know about the springs but I hope you have someone with small hands to reach the nuts which go on the bottom of the handle whan you go to install it. I had to have eight year old son reach them for me. I would purchase a new GM handle.

i just went thru this pain. I thought about the idea of just changing the pivot spring too but decided that it would have been a pain to find the spring.. i ordered a new one and put it in. Like the other posters said, either have a small kid or midget standing by to get the nuts that hold it on or take the window motor access panel off and reach in thru there.. if you have long arms and fingers, that is the way to go. takes a little bit of fishing, but if you drop the nut in there, it's easier to get to.

Ecklers sells the spring by itself. The part # is A4303. FYI don't buy the other spring "that installs in seconds" part # A4302, it does not work very good.
