I have found the sites on the internet that show the codes, what they mean, and the production numbers for each option. Now I would like to know where to look on my 69 to find all the codes so I can learn about what the car had from the factory. Also what publication is the best on this type of information or software for that matter.
The black book is a wealth of info on casting/part numbers, options, etc. but it does not tell you how each car was equipped or give numbers for option combinations. You need the build sheet (tank sticker) for your car. It is on top of the tank. Sometimes you can see it, sometimes you have to drop the tank. Sometimes you can read it, sometimes not. 50/50 chance there is another one rolled up between the speedo and tach. These are you only proof of how the car came. IF you have an 81 up made in Bowling Green then you can get a copy from them.
If you go to the NCRS web site http://www.ncrs.org you can purchase the Technical Information Manual and Judging Guide for the year of your car. It has the codes and the location of them on your car. It also contains everthing you ever wanted to know about how your car came off the assembly line.
Good Luck. :chevy
