One thing I did notice as I browsed through the pictures was that the
rear end yoke on the passenger side was pulled out from the differential
case. This is usually indicative of the yoke being worn down to the point of
losing it's Cclip inside the differential case.
I would pull the cover and check it out - before you get the body back
on and the access is impeded. The yokes aren't too cheap - but now's the time to do it.
Gary,
The engine hoist worked great, but remember I had the car almost completely stripped so the weight wasn't an issue.
When I lifted onto dolly, I rigged a different way using some heavy cargo tie-downs and a short sling. Didn't take pictures but when we put the body back on I will.
Looks great you guys ought to be proud of your work. I had a question for you. What brand name of repair materials did you use to fix the fiberglass and to attach the new panels?
I used the Eckler's resin and bonding adhesive so far. But, going forward I plan to use the Evercoat brand adhesive and body filler, mostly based on Lars' recommendation from his papers. I've also used and will keep using 3M and Bondo brand polyster resin. IMO, when it comes to resin, its the prep and repair design that's more important that the brand of resin. And besides, its only $8 a can.
I've thought about a frame off. Your pics really are temping, but with two little kids...not enought time yet. Someday. I'm curious about your aircleaner. I've thought about that same one. How well does it filter?
