I'm trying to get my a/c controls working correctly so I can get air out of my vents rather that just on the floor. I have vacuum getting into the interior, but, I am having trouble following the vacuum lines under the dash area. I have the console sides off and all 4 lines are hooked up OK to the heater a/c controller. Do I need to take out the duct work under the dash to get to the actuators, or, how did you guys do this? I'm thinking of getting the Dr. Rebuild hose kit if I can't get this done, but, that won't help if I still am having trouble getting to the actuators. There must be something I am missing here.
How's the best way to work on these vacuum lines under the dash and behind the duct work?
My Vette obviously from my forum name is a 79 with A/C and a 4 speed. Thanks in advance for any help you vacuum line experts can offer.

Re: A/C-Heater Vacuum Control Help Please (79 Midnight Blue L82)
To make mine easier to get to, I pulled off the whole dash! I was able to see everything and I replaced all fo the lines. Besure to check the vacuum switch on the back of the ac/heater control panel. That is where mine was leaking. I rigged it until I can order a new panel. Of course, you can do that without taking the dash off. Besure to invest in a hand held vacuum pump, that is the easist way to check the actuators.
Hope that helps!

Since you have "have vacuum getting into the interior", then probably:
2) The vac. switch itself is not switching due to vac. leak as the usually plastic rivet is not holding the 2 main switch parts together well. Besides replacing, it is also possible to tighten this &/or lube w/ a thin layer of white lithium grease or vasoline to fix.
