As I recall, someone made an aluminum C3 caliper. Or am I full of it?

That Stainless Steel Brakes kit looks pretty slick. There was a guy on the forum a while back that was running that setup. I went my route due to cost. The SSBC kit is $850 just for the front calipers, $700 for the rear, and another $425 for rotors. That is almost $2000 for stock sized rotors and lighter calipers.
The C5 setup will end up costing me under $500 for the whole setup front and rear. Plus I really dig the custom fabrication. That is half the fun.

You guys have given me a lot of crap in the past for not posting pictures. Well I finally got some film developed and here they are.
New rotor and caliper all bolted up.

yep, your wrong :D
ive always seen the slots point that way, allthough i dont see what it would matter since all they do is get rid of the gas that hot brakes produce.

I wouldn't think the direction of the slots would matter, but the vanes inside have to go the right way. And yes, the rotors are clearly marked as to which one goes where.

That is seriously  . I'll wait to see the results of your upgrade before I do anything to my brakes. Definitely need to sell that bracket for all the fabricating challenged.

I wonder if the brackets could be made of steal as well. Be a lot easier for us home fabricators to reproduce. Any reason why they couldn't?

Looks great. Are they going to fit with stock 15in wheels or will larger aftermarket wheels be required? Thanks, Hershey :chevy

Some beautiful machine work there!!!
I love fabrication!!!!!!! Nice job on it... I would much prefer a set of modern C5 brakes up front instead of paying $140 a caliper when they start to leak!!
Out with the old, in with the new!!!

very cool
it was said that the advantage was the wait of the rotor but the four piston caliper may be better so why not just put on the larger rotor and an adapter plate for the stock caliper or the ssbc alum caliper? would that work better?

Re: C5 brake upgrade this time with PICTURES! (Corz)
the 4 piston caliper is better if all things are equal. but the old calipers are heavy and expensive.
i wonder how braking would be with 2 sets of fronts... so you have the larger brakes all arround
