... I need to replace the plugs in the BB. Previous owner used R44xls... Book calls for R43N.... Was wondering what other plugs are being run... with good results!! Anyone know the difference btwn N and XLS?
N is I guess is for non-resistor plug which I believe are the recommended plug. I have used R-43 XLS with much success. It is listed in many manuals as the current plug of choice. R-44XLS is fine too, just a hotter plug. I tried a set of non resistor plugs in it also and could tell no difference either way.
Hey Mark.. I run the R44nxls... but I run the gap at 50... I'm running a Mallory Unilite with a pro coil, and Mallory VII CD.... It picked up a bit of torq, and 2 mpg over a 35gap!! It your running a modern ignition.. widen the gap and play with it to see what your beastie likes!
I have used the recommended AC plugs but recently switched to accell shorty plugs due to header closeness. Runs no different, except for the plugs and wires being away from the headers.
