Well I have all the tubes bent and tacked together. I cut the deck lid to clear the bars. I'll show pics of that when it is completed. Don't want to scare anyone with pics of cut up fiberglass. There doesn't seem to be any loss of rigidity to the deck lid which operates normally as does the convertible top. I'll show more detailed pics of the completed install later. I think instead of worrying about the paint, the two hoops are going to get padded and wrapped in tape - much, much safer as well as more 'competition' looking.
I'm not so sure about making any to sell and ship, but will probably be willing to make some for local folks, tho they wont be cheap as it is about three solid hard days of work to build and install! IM me if interested.
Chris is this considered a roll cage and what does it do. I can see maybe if the car is rolled and if the hoops are braced properly they would protect the head. Also they could be used as an anchor for a 5 point harness but as far as adding rigidity to the car do they really help.
Also how about the loss of what little storage space we already have.
Also welding to the frame prevents future removal of the body.
If the vet was unibody I would install a cage but with our fiberglass lift off bodies I will not do it.
