yea that time if year is almost here again. Start up the vette and have to be concerned about the choke working.... Crusing now is at a state where the windows must be up, a cranked heater and a jacket is now required for chatting with girls in adjacent lanes. I hate winter, anyone down south need a roommate for 6 months? I'll be parking the vette for hibernation this weekend or next. but i want to drive the trans am for a month in October jsut because it was sitting in storage for 2 years now. :yesnod:
I live in ontario and other then today we have had a heat wave and dry spell. I welcome a little cooler weather. Get a winter sport and the winter goes alot easier. I got a new 700 yamaha snowmobile and Strider for long rides in the snow.
I love the winter and would not want to have it constantly hot/warm year round. Winter is also a more relaxing time, no yard work, lawns to cut, water, pool care, painting etc etc.
Well I can tell that Fall has arrived in South Texas, I got up this morning and it was a chilly 68* F, first time since early April I've seen temps in the 60's. I almost went back in the house and got my insulated coveralls! :D
Well i could go for another month of fall. snowed the last 2 days but today looks like it going to be a great day.when you live up north you never know what weather you are going to get. Thats ok though as i have the motor and trans out, bumpers removed and half the cars tripped already. Getting a good jump on my winter project.
Yes it is getting to be that "time of year" again.... No snow way-way up here yet. I doubt I'll have the tops off, but I am hoping to get a run or two in before the snow falls...
And Paul... The leaves are changing up here in Yellowknife!
A little off topic, but I am going for "BIG FISH" (Muskie) the second week of October on Lake of the Woods (Kenora, ONT area). That's where I got my "handle" on this forum. Much chance of snow around there that time of year? This will be the latest in the year I have ever attempted this type of trip there.
Very little chance of snow in mid-October. Last year it came in early November but was followed by a thaw. Persistent day-time temps of less than freezing normally come along in late November.

Re: getting cold "up" in Canada (Robert N)
Dang, still breaking 100 out here. Temps will drop to the low 90's only because rain is due.
What we need is an exchange program.
Some of us desert dwellers and Southerners can switch homes in Time Share fashion with a few of are fellow Northeast and Canadian friends.
I went to Seattle on Tuesday night. It was 105 when I left, and 50 when I got off the plane. It never topped into the 60's while I was there.
I would pay cash for a weekend of that weather, a full 48 hours for $100. I could get so much work done on the vette if it just wasn't 105+ in the garage all damn day.
I Was in Kenora about 2 weeks ago, their weather is about the same as ours, (winnipeg MB) which means snow at the end of Oct, early Nov. I was there for work, but had a little time for fishing, by buddy caught a Carp, (and i didn't know there were any there) and between the 2 of us about 10 pickeral(walleye) within maybe 2 hours. We were using night crawlers and apparently minnows are better... We went about a month before that, using minnows caught a lot of small mouth bass.
