had left side half shaft missing clip for U-joint, so going to replace all the u-joints, one was bad, one flange was bent couldn't even get the u-joint out also rusted :mad , and the other flange where the clip was supposed to go is smashed this is why the clip was missing :smash: ,, this equals 2 new flanges, 4 new u-joints and powder coat the shafts :( well atleast I don't have to pay daycare!!!! bushog
I just had the U-Joint on the main shaft replaced, And have the half-shafts slated for sometime next week. I figure the car is 25 yrs old, might as well go ahead and get it done. The main shaft is no big deal, but the half-shafts I'm not about to touch. I'll let someone who has the proper tools handle that. I'll just wind up cussin' and cryin'.
Best of luck on yours
The needle joints in my left halfshaft were utterly vaporized  The right side wasn't so bad, but they were bone dry. Almost enough to make me want greaseables. Oh yeh, did I mention the car only had about 68k on it at the time?
got the shafts blasted and ready to power coat, ordered 2 flanges from Zip, 1 coming the other is back ordered :( looks as though my car my be down for a while  picking up the U-joints tomorrow... bushog
