I have a 74 and when you open the doors and look in between the fender and door, (where the tag is showing the paint code, int. code and so forth) it looks reall rough its not smooth and eye appealing. I have seen two other C3's that look the same way. It looks almost like fiberglass work that was never finished. I hope you guys know what I mean. I dont know how to explain it. Why is this? it just doesnt look good.
It is like that on every one I have seen. GM must have figured it not to be important because it can't be seen with the doors closed. The time to make it pretty would have cost them more.
Considering that the Corvette is essentially a hand built mass production car (at least the earlier generations were) I think Chevrolet did a pretty good job on most of it.
I've detailed my cowl area because almost every C3 I've seen is a mess in this area. There's gotta be at least 50lbs of excess bonding "stuff" on these cars.
