Default Finally won something on eBay!!!

Woohoo, check out my new wheels:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ory=33745&rd=1

With a little cleaning they may not be half bad for some track wheels. Now I can put them on and in the garage make racecar noises (since the engine's on it's way out :( )

Great Price!!! You'll need 1/2 + inch spacers to fit those rims...
Ask the seller to ship with FedEx which should save you some money.. I just shipped my drag radials with wheels for $44... UPS charges like $80..

Yeah, the shipping will probably be more than the wheels. Heck of a price though.
Olivier, the backspacing is 3.75. You think I will still need spacers? I've seen these wheels on many other vettes with no spacers.

The backspacing has nothing to do with it.. 3.75 backspacing is fine.. but the rims won't clear the calipers.. I had Cragars on my '69 and also on my '68 and I needed at least 1/2 - 3/4 inch spacers... The Cragars won't clear the calipers for sure!!

THE BACKSPACING WON'T GIVE YOU ANY INDICATION IF THEY'LL CLEAR THE CALIPERS!! There's no parameter that will give you this information.. You have to ask around if anybody used them to find out.. Here's s small list of wheels that will clear the calipers with no spacers:

Centerline Auto Drags
Centerline Convo Pros
AR Torq Thrust II's
AR Outlaw I
AR Outlaw II

Man, 1/2 inch seems like a lot. I guess there may be some other vette owners that don't even realize they are using spacers. There is a guy down the street from me that has some cragars on his 67 and didn't think he was using spacers. Will I need new studs then? Wish I would have known, there were a bunch of spacers for sale at the Super Chevy Show last weekend.

Ask them to ship Airborne Express ground. Much better for big stuff than UPS, FedEx, or any trucking companies.

You don't need longer studs.. You just need the longer Cragar Lugnuts (available at pep boys).. I recommend that you use slightly more than 1/2 inch of spacers.. because the long lugnuts might hit the end of the studs and the wheels could get loose if you won't use enough spacing... That happened to me on my '69 and messed up a set of wheels...

The vette should really hook up well with those tires and the *engine-delete* option. Sounds like time to get a racing helmet for safety's sake.

With those tires - you should get 800+ HP cars to hook...

Yeah, now once I get the engine back in I really have to be careful on the drivetrain cause the tires won't be the weakest link anymore.

Travis & GrandsportC3....

Jesh! When's the last time you saw a set of slicks hook on an *engine delete* vette? All just a pun including the racing helmet note unless you are full of octane(booze) and fall out of the vette in the garage.

I'd say a set of slicks on my ultra rare 69 with the engine delete option will hook dam good. It's hard to spin the tires when you can't even spin the driveshaft. :lolg:
