Hi everyone! I am new to this forum and I am looking for some advice. My 'vette is in need of a new steering box and I was interested in the rack & pinion kit that I see in the Corvette Central catalog. Anybody ever use one of these kits. Are they a worthwhile investment.
Re: Steeroids rack and pinion steering (spiderjames)
Welcome to the forum spiderman, I see you down the street in Orlando, ....
the welcomd addition of rack/pinion steering will amaze you at how much better handling the car becomes...not just in replacing all the worn out parts, which is important, but in the quicker steering ratio, which goes with todays more modern tires.....the most important two things to update these cars is....#1 tires/wheels.... #2 electronic engine controls...DPFI, #3 rack/pinion steering, #4 overdrive if you in a higher speed larger state like Florida....
in a small state cruising 80 is a short burst for maybe 10 miles or so, it's not hurting engines...but hour after hour at 4 grand, yeh, that can hurt any engine....

Steeroids from Speed Direct are supporting vendors of the Corvette Forum (I think?) and have offered several group discount purchases for forum members. Perhaps they will offer it again in the near future.
