Well we went out to Lone Star Race Track in Seally, Tx Sat night, we were there just to watch, and wow, what a show, a lot of bumper dragging. Well toward the end of the night, I went over to the tower and ask If I could make one run. There was nothing but trailered cars, all the serious guys. Well I was shocked when they said I would need to fill out a spec card. Okay here we go...... I just had street tires with me but I let out some preasure and was in line.... I went up beside a truck that looked to have nothing but one back tire all they way across...... here we go my heart is pounding, I go through the burn out, blazing tires. At the tree i eased up and one light came on, i began to hit the RPM's and move up a hair, second light.....and we are off. He pulled the front in off the ground and was a car lenght ahead of me. It was an amazing feeling as I pulled ahead of him and beat him by a half a lenght. WOW I just beat a pro on street tires. I Hooked very good though. The sad part if there was one I couldnt get a time as they were having trouble with the board. They let me make one more pass, by myself. OMG I was on top of the world, what a feeling...... Just thought I would let all my pals here know......

I took my car to the track this past spring, first time ever to the track ( me and probably the car) and I made 5 passes on the 1/8 mile. My best time was 9.971 :( . I really need more power. Your 383 sounds nice with over 500HP and 500 Torque
 . What is your setup?
I dont know what happen with the times. About half way through the races they stopped everything for about 45 minutes and said they were having computer problems. Everyone was starting to get a little hot, as they charged 15 a head instead of the usuall 10. So I guess they decided to let everyone run without times to try to keep everyone from getting mad. Dont worry I have the bug bad now, I knew my car was fast but I didnt know how fast, still dont, but it can hang with the big boys.
Im punched out .040 over and I stroked it, so Im about 386-388 CI. Im running AFR heads which have been CNC ported and polished, these babies flow!!! Demon Carb, 3800 stall
We tried to, when I got back over to my buddies, we went looking for him, he already had his truck trailered, and he was no where around. I was told he was also running another car there that night. Im still pumped. Im curious what drag radials or slicks will do for me, I would love to have a pic of my vette with the front end off the ground.
383 with over 500 hp. I cry :bs . I sorry to bust on you, but I'm sick of the 500 hp 383's. It just is not possible. And it would not be streetable. Please prove me wrong with dyno sheets, ET times, etc. :boxing Just trying to keep things realistic for the guy's that are spending $2000 and $3000 dollars for these strokers. Again sorry to give you a hard time, but I think you are living in a horsepower dream world.
Nobody can bring me down right now. It was dynoed at Sun racing 526 HP @ 6100 rpms and 532 Ft pounds of torque at 5700 rpm's Today I installed a 200 shot of NOS, but the 526 is on 93 octane, no nos. anytime your in Katy, I will be more than happy to show it to you......Go to http://www.AFR.com and look at their dyno page, 500 HP out of a 383 is not hard to do. I have $2500 in my heads alone about 8K in the whole motor
To funny that site is for Australian Financial Report. I don't doubt you and I travel to Houston all the time, so you can take me for a ride in that beast. I've never ridin in 500 hp vette. Tshort also lives in Houston and he has the same set up. Sounds like its the makings for a good race. :D
Honest, Im not here to argue with you. I love C3's there shapest sports car ever made, and I have built this one solid. I know there are people that claim to have high HP motors, but I have the time and the bucks in this one to do it. I would be more than happy to have you over my home, and show you what it can do, and I dont mean that to come across in a bad way, Im serious.... I love talking to over vette guys over a cold one.

You can understand how some of us are a little skeptical after waiting a week for you to run then the time clock dosen't work, perhaps you could scan and post the printout from the dyno at Sun Racing and shut us up, also I didn't see what cam you are running. :D
Brandon - I'd like to see your vette too sometime. Not because I don't believe you but I'd just like to see it. Right now you would beat me starting in fourth gear :lolg: (my engine is hanging from my lift and will be crated up tonight). But once it's in all things being equal I don't think you would have any problems beating me. But keep your street tires on and I'll throw on my slicks and I might have a chance. When I get the motor back in we should head out to the strip sometime. There's also that 1/8 mile strip just outside of Katy.
yea its in Seally about 25 miles west of Katy. Let me know when you get it together, we go out there ever so often. its a lot of fun. What have you done to your rearend?
