Im looking at replacing my intake manifold do to sealing problems. Ive seen the Professional Products copy of the *Polished* Edelbrock RPM Airgap and want to know how these perform. Also is the polished quality nice? Havent seen one in person. Thanks for any suggestions.
*also- looking at the holley street intake - I have the Edelbrock 2101 on now and is acceptable but want to come up to standards with something nice and more power.
:seeya
Re: New intake manifold---> NEED suggestions; (jaggeedfire)
It's an exact copy of the Edelbrock design. Edelbrock is looking into possibly suing for copyright infringement. There have been some posts on this before, a few forum members have compared the two side by side, and found no discernable difference. The question you need to ask yourself is, do you want a cheap Chinese knockoff of an American product just so you can save a few bucks? Pony up the cash to buy the Edelbrock.
Re: New intake manifold---> NEED suggestions; (jaggeedfire)
They are NOT an exact copy of an Edelbrock. The dual plane manifolds are somewhat similar, the single plane manifolds are very different. They may look like it on the outside but when you take cross-sectional measurement of the runners and plenum you will see that they are different. I have used them on limited/sportsman motors and they are usually down about 2-3% of a comparable Edelbrock. That would be 8 -12 HP on a 400 HP motor. For the money, they are a good deal. If you want maximum power then go with an Edelbrock.

Matt: I have done test all three ways on the single plain manifolds, out of the box, gasket match, and full race porting. The power plus manifolds where always down slightly on power. As far as the Weiand Team G's, since Holley bought them out they seem to be the "red headed step-child" to them. Holley has not updated the design of the Team G in over 15 years and they have really fallen behind. Team G's used to be a good manifold at one time but it is not even in the ball park anymore.

To me it seems like a false economy to save $45 and end up with more than a 1% drop. 10 HP is a lot to lose.
I plan the Edelbrock 2975 with a 1/2" wood spacer, that will fit under the hood of my 61 with a 3" filter. I'm looking for a solid flat tappet cam for 6500 shifts w/4.11 rear.
Maybe the Crower 0321.

Matt: The 2975 manifold is starting to fall behind in technology. I would look at the 2925 or the bow-tie 10051102. If they will fit, they are both better intakes than the 2975. I think you would like either one. If they won't fit then the 2975 would be my next choice.
The Crower 0321 is a great cam. I have used it in some of my limited motors. It repsonds well to a 1.6 intake rocker. With it's wider lobe seperation it comes in nice and early with a broad power band. It should be a good combo.

the 2925 will be tight, but without a spacer i think it will fit with a 3" filter. Should be much easier to jet than that 2101 dual plane:rolleyes:
i'm glad you like the 0321 cam
Thanks again for your expertise
