It's hard to tell from the pics but they look like Western Cyclone II mags, circa 1980.
I believe that's correct. The other possibility is American Racing which had these in the 80's as well. It's been so long (and they were on the car when I bought it) I can't remember.
There weren't painted when I got them, but when the car was repainted (original color was silver), they did the wheels for me as well to match.
It's been interesting - the reaction to the wheels. I've been surprised at how many people say "keep 'em - they work."
For now though that's exactly what I'm going to do so I can get that much needed seat-time in! :D
What is the size of the wheels, and, I should not assume, what is the backspacing and bolt patter. Anyone have any idea of what these are worth????? I am thinking about $50 a wheel, but I am only basing that on the fact that anyother 15" used wheels are going for about that on ebay.

I think you’re all correct. I talked with American Racing at Pomona national drags in 2002. The rep. said American bought Western years ago. Western also made a 10 spoke wheel, which is what I have on my shark. I can’t find an extra set of the 10 spoke wheels for racing slicks but do see a lot of the 15 rib wheels at the swap meets near L.A..
I think period wheels look cool and are inexpensive racing spares if they have enough back spacing.
