Truck motor in a C3.
I’m installing a BB into my previously SB, 69. The BB was a 454 mark-4 casting from an 88 p/u truck that has now become a totally rebuilt 489. Can I buy the 1969 Corvette 427 brackets, water pump, crank pulley etc and just bolt them on? Or is the late model BB casting different and maybe I will need to try and use the truck brackets, alternator, pumps etc. The serpentine truck stuff is really different, and really really ugly.

Re: Truck motor in a C3. (Torque Crazy)
I don't think the Serpentine system will fit in C-3 without notching the front cross member and running electric fans. I think the balancer pully is too far forward. That truck serpentine setup might be ugly, but it would sure be easy to change that belt.
Do you know if any of the 69-74 brackets for the big block bolt directly to the heads? If they do, that is the one thing that you have to make sure is the same.

Re: Truck motor in a C3. (1bad69)
everything lined up on mine... though it wasn't an '88 (it was older). Had some issues with the PS pump bracket, but i think it's because i had the wrong one. Plan on going to a serpentine system before too long... much better in the long run!
