72 vette hood alignment
I am putting the finishing touches on my restored 72 vette and am having hood alignment problems. I can play around with the hinges and the lock catches to get the gaps half way decent. The problem I have is that the hood sits up higher than the fenders! It is level at the latches and one of the hinges. The passenger side hinge and halfway up the hood between the hinges and the latches sits up about 1/4 inch above the fenders? It does not appear to have any shims at the hinges which would allow me to lower the hood and I have worked with the front end and bumper support brackets in front of the front wheels to try and raise the front end, but it will go no farther. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this? I recently added an LT-1 scoop to the hood and it came out really nice so I am hesitate to replace the hood.
