Default 68 Seat Upgrade

I would like to upgrade the seats in my 68 soft top. Does anyone know what year seats will fit?

You have lots of options from what I've heard. 69, 70-74,75, 76-78 seats fit without mods, 79-82 seats fit if you use your tracks. 84-96 seats fit using your tracks. 97-up seats fit but require mods to the car. I have 79-82 seats in my 69 convertible. I am 6' tall and cannot wear a hat with the top up, because the seats are so tall. I have heard the same about 84-96 seats being tall, but have no firsthand knowledge. Also it's hard to get out past the steering wheel, even with tilt with these seats.

I installed 80 - 82 style seats in my '68 and they fit without any mods...

Thanks for the info. I was wondering about the seat height/steering wheel clearance issue.
