Hi all,
This may seem simple. It is not clear to me at this point.... it's late... I have been off all week to work on the car.... just the car! So I am probably over looking something simple....
I just got my package from Summit. One Summit Carb/Fuel Pump kit arrived. Looks nice! How the hell do I install it? The actual fittings? I know to cut the hose to length... but do I leave some rubber hose exposed to fit into the fitting then screw it together? Or do I force the braided hose into the fitting then screw it on? I am thinking the whole hose goes into the fitting then the fitting screws on to the threaded end of the supplied carb fitting. I have walked away for the evening... kinda tired! ANY HELP on this seemingly simple process would be great!
  :leaving:
Im not really sure. I was going to use braided hose until I read an article by Lars on how to make a fuel line. His article mentioned that the factory fuel line was made of steel. I didnt know why the factory used a steel line until I began to think....hmmm pressurized feul...warm engine......rubber hose.... a recepie for disaster. Thus braided hose.... offers protection, however I agree with Lars and followed his instructions to the letter and made my own steel feul line. Worked very well and is very simple to do. Someone on the forum a few weeks ago asked how do owners plumb their feul pump to carb line.

Re: AN Fuel line question... (Mr.Gearhead)
Almost 4am and you're still working on your Vette. I thought I was compulsive! I followed the instructions from the link you found and used patience. I think we're talking about the same pump-carb kit.
Here's an old pic, I no longer use that air cleaner pictured.
Looks like same Summit Kit. I have a 600CFM Holley single feed 4160. I have your website on my favs. I think you are doing an awesome job, love that car. The Lemans tank is just perfect. When my 70 is finished... very soon I hope, I want to buy a 1969 and make it look like one of the older race cars. Maybe even the L-88 white test car mondo sidepipes... yeah...
Are you pulling the body? Does not look like it is needed. When are you dropping in that monster motor? Holy Hell I would love to see video of that beast taking off....... ssshhhhhhrrrrrreeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkarrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, then you hit second.... hee heee :lolg:
