Re: Corvette Expo (72vetteman)
I just got in from EXPO, I have seen more people, larger shows and more Vendors but I had a really enjoyable day. It was beautiful, the sun was out, no coat, no crowd just a good day to enjoy the show.
I went with two Ford guys and they enjoyed the show as well. After we left we stopped at O'Charleys and it was a great steak with a lil waitress that kept us laughing the whole time we were there.
It was a good day to enjoy the hobby, friends, a meal and a perfect day.
I did wave and smile a lot today and especially as I passed Exit 62........Jim :seeya
i was sorta dissappointed..the show car buillding was half empty, also, there wasnt a lot of parts to be had, unless you wanted rust....
i think that some of the vendors are getting this attitude of 'your here for me, im not here for you', and a lot of people are going elsewhere for parts, i have had 2 vendors do that to me, including one today....

Re: Corvette Expo (PRESSURERAT)
I went yesterday too. Sorry I didn't get to catch up with you guys. But I did come away with a few bargains. I got all new lenses for the outside of my car for $345 and two rear brake rotors (made in USA) for $105. Compared to catalog prices I saved quite a nice little bit. The Jacobs building was quite empty as well as the lower end where the used parts normally are. I was surprised about that.
My wife only found one car that she really would have liked, but the price was astronomical.
We had a good day overall. We have been going for the last 7 or 8 years and enjoy going. The spring show was a lot better IMO this year.
I did see one of the 04 vettes that has the Lemans paint scheme on it, only $64k if I remember correctly. HA, keep on dreamin fellow.
Usually the Fall show isn't as good as the Spring show. :nonod: If you go hoping to just have a great time with other Corvette Enthusiast......enjoy the day.....friends......food.....you won't be disappointed.
I'm going to start looking for someone to hire...to drive me and my Vette to the Corvette Events. I don't like driving much any more (except right around home) so I miss a lot of shows. If you know of anyone who would like to drive a `79 around....send them my way. :bb
