Dropped the chassis yesterday
I finally separated my body and chassis yesterday. Did it all by myself with the help of my new 4-post lift. Instead of the traditional approach of pulling the body up off the frame, the 4 post lift allowed my to drop the chassis from the body. It came apart very smoothly and worked great. I then pushed the chassis out, pulled the dolley in, and raised the dolly up into the body, unloaded the straps and lowered the whole thing.
Didn't get many good pic's, but here is one anyway...

Pretty good ... some original paint, some dirt, some light rust. The body bolts where not corroded at all. I bought this car in Texas and that is probably why the frame is so "clean" when compared to others of it's age ( 1972 ).

Sure - First I bought a 4-post lift. Had Silvr77 come over and help me assemble it ( A TRUE GENTLEMEN !!! ).
Built a body dolley, built the frame you see in the picture, raise the car into the frame, strapped the body to it, lowered the chassis, exchange the body dolly for the chassis, raised the body dolly into the chassis, unhooked the straps, and lowered the body dolly with body attached.

Great idea for a lift. I almost used the same straps except I couldn't figure out how to lower the load with the ratchet mechanism they have. I see you can raise the frame to the body.
