Default Help identify these bucket seats?

My wife has a 1970 Chevelle that has non-Chevelle seats in it. According to the previous owner, they were from a "60-something" Corvette. However, I finally removed one today (because we have actual 1970 Chevelle-proper seats to put in soon) and there is a 1975 stamp on the bottom. So, I am now just trying to determine exactly where these are from (mainly to better sell them later after we swap in the Chevelle seats). Does anyone know if these are from a Corvette?

Thanks much!

I don't recognize the pattern - but having done several 1070- 1981 Camaros and Firebirds --- they look allot like the mid 70's to early 80's F-body seats.

I don't recall seeing those in any Vette.

I hate to say it, but these may be from something like a Datsun 240Z from 75. Doesn't look like anything domestic I've seen.

Ok -- thanks for the info. A lot of the other things that he told me were not quite accurate either, so I wouldn't be surprised if these are not Vette related at all, I guess. heh. Thanks.

I think those are 73-77 Monte-Carlo seats.

Don't know for sure - but I'd put my money on GM here.
The characteristics of the seats are very close to the 75 vette seats.
Kinda look like 70s Camaro - but the cover styling is unique.
Maybe aftermarket or custom covers.

Looks like the seat that is on my articulating loader tractor  .

Really looks sorta mid 70ish Camaro also.

I would definitly put my money on 70s GM. Just look at the thread patterns, very sterotypical of GM. Not to mentio nthe type of foam is exactly the same. Also the seat back is made form that wierd epoxy resin stuff that lieks to break, or so it looks, just like in my 76. Also that lever mechanism is exactly the same as the one on my 76. Id say 75 comaro or monte or something similar.

I did a little hunting and what i found is that the 75 monte has a front bench seat. IM writing this as i find out this information so its kind of going to lead through what i find and hopefully end at what those seats came form. The 75 comaro has similar seats, but much diffrent when it comes to thread patterns. The monaza has very similar seats, about the only diffrence is the thread pattern on the base of the seat, and not by taht much. but they also have a center stripe of cloth, so basicly the sides are exactly the same but the center portion is not. http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=172392&make_type_qu ery=make%3DChevrolet&model_brand_query=m odel%3DMonza&tree=Chevrolet%20Monza
also those are pics of a 76 monaza, and they arent that great either.
I cant find any good interior pics, but what i can tell from the out side the nova seat are rounded at the top, unlike yours. The vega dosent look good either. the T/A is also a no go.
well that is all i can find, no positive but alot of choices are crossed out. If i ahd to put money on something i might say a special interior option on a 75 monaza because the main part of the seat is the same.

Vega/Monza seats have studs in the tracks that go through the floor I think. Chevelles and Monte Carlos could still be had with bucket seats as an option in 1975.

After someone here mentioned it might be from a Monte, I went back over to my normal Chevelle forum and asked there. One guy guessed Toyota, AMC/Jeep, or Datsun -- and said that he'd never seen GM seats with that pattern (which I tend to agree with).

Someone else said that they had salvaged some buckets from a Monza for their Nova and, from his memory, they were identical to these.

So, that's at least two votes for Monza so far. :)

Basically, my question is answered -- in that it likely doesn't matter what it ends up being since they don't have a very decent resale value. I was just trying to see if they were anything desirable to see if I should try to resell them to someone else also trying to restore their car. Seems unlikely, based on the popularity of whatever it is, that this will be the case.

No biggie. I'm just happy to have proper 70 Chevelle seats to replace them finally! :)
