Alright, I need those of you with Photoshop experience and pictures of 1969 Corvettes that you A) either have rights to or B) have the owner's permission to alter the color.
When I redo the body on my car back to stock, I'll get rid of the black paint that is currently on it. I want it to be Le Mans Blue once again. However, as you may know, the 2004 Corvette also has a Le Mans Blue option. I'm debating whether to paint my car 1969 or 2004 Le Mans Blue.
Here's the challenge: Alter a 1969 Stingray that is ('69) Le Mans Blue to best show ('04) Le Mans Blue. I would like to see both colors on the car.
Thanks for your time. I hope I'm not the only one who would like to see a new color code on a C3.
It is really hard to match colors exactly to look as they would in real life. but I have been going through these same thoughts as to what to pint my car.
One of the best looking Vettes on the forum is Cam Grant's. I hope he doesn't mind my taking a few liberties with his. I have often considered black, yet the car has been painted blue for the 30 years I have owned it. Out of sentiment it has hard to think of calling "the blue Vette" anything else.
Here is his car in the very dark blue now available on GM pickup trucks.
I added one of Zwede's gorgeous car that I had played with too. I am being bad because both cars are too gorgeous to change!
By the way, thanks for the kind words below, 74-Roadster
This was my background on my computer for a while untill the picture slowly started to become altered everytime I turned it on. One of my favorite vettes on the forum. As for the color, I think they both look really good. I dont think you could be unhappy either way.
That's cool! I know there are different ways to do the same thing in Photoshop. Are these color alterations done with a layer mask? How about selecting the body and going into Image --> Adjustments and changing the hue/saturation, colors or replacing a color? What are the favored methods of attack?
Everything you said to get the picture. I start with a careful outline of the part I want to change, cut and pasting it onto a new blank background. Once I finish, I repaste back onto the original. But I keep the blank just in case I am later asked "What would pink look like?"
Chuck
p.s. Would any self respecting Canadian drive a car this color?
I used Paintshop pro 7. and I used the select image. "then go to image, adjust, replace color" and played with the hue, saturation, and lightness.
That was the quickest way with the 68 vette since it had such a differing color range, selecting just the blue on the body was easy in "replace color".
There are several other ways to go about it, especially when there or other objects in the picture within the same color range. using a quick mask is about the easiest of them with these circumstances.
I'm just a hacker when it comes to this, the best way for me to learn is to just start clicking, and then later the fun begins when I need to try to remember just what I clicked to get back to what I wanted in the first place.
