Crossfire fuel pressure reguator
What is the color of the spring in the stock pressure regulator (inside rear TBI unit)? The one in this '82 is purple which allows 35# of pressure (not good for the diaphrams!)

did you measure the spring load on that spring? The stock setup is not adjustable but can be made adjustable very easy, that's the way to go. It's much easier to just drill out the plug in the regulator body and tap it for a screw and adjust that way than to start messing with shims and springs.
did you check the fuel pressure? The car will never run at 35psi of pressure, are you sure you're right? 13psi is high for a TBI setup but some run it for extra fuel on modded motors.
The 35# of pressure is especially hard on the injectors, at a certian pressure they won't even close anymore, I never tried it but it could very well be that 35# is too much for them to close.
