OT marriage proposal ideas???
The place is called Medieval Times. It's an arena where actors joust for the honor of selected maidens from the audience. The "wenches" serve you food without forks or knives, and its basically a king Arthur like atmosphere.
What they had was: you paid a couple hundred bucks, they would videotape the show professionally from like 5 angles. During the show, a knight would pick your woman as the maiden he is championing. At some point, a manager asks you to come with him while you discuss your credit card, or there's an important phone call, or your car is being towed, etc. The knight wins, and your woman get escorted to the arena for the final ceremony. Out comes the knight in a fresh and clean suit of armor, atop a horse, and he approaches the King and Queen. The rider then dismounts, and removes his helmet, and (you guessed it) ITS YOU!. You then proceed to ask for her hand in marriage in front of the whole arena.
When I was 18, I though that was the coolest idea, and decided that whoever I chose, would get that proposal.
Well, due to the liability involved, and because the corporation has changed hands over the years, they don't provide that anymore.
Now, I have a woman I've been dating for almost 3 yrs. We're reasy to take the next step, but I want this to be the MOST memorable day in her life.
I would like to keep our anniversary, so I plan on proposing on Dec 26th. 3 years to the day, from our first date.
A coworker said to talk to a local movie theater, and have a short film made, or even still frames, asking her to marry me. The idea is okay, but it doesn't seem to have the spark I'm looking for.
I'm not a sports fan, and even if I was, a scoreboard proposal is not what I'm looking for.
I don't want a plane with a trailing message, either.
I also want to avoid the standard restaurant scene.
No ring in the cake, or salad or anything like that either.
I'm looking for something that will stick in her mind always, and make her friends and relatives jealous.
I'm so desparate, I've even considered making it so non-chalant, that she will be angry for all eternity at my lack of any ceremony with the proposal.
I've just recently started searching the web for ideas, but none have really appealed to me yet.
Any ideas? Or advice on this matter???
I just took a walk with my girlfriend (at the time) one night, we talked and I told her how much I loved her and then asked if she would consider becomeing my wife. Nothing too crazy but it came from the heart. WHatever you do she is going to love it as long as it is more for her than the people around you (ie a large crowd).
Good luck and congrats on finding someone that you want to spend the rest of your life with!
My proposal line was" I need benifits, lets get married." Being a practical woman, my soon to be bride said "Yes." We then went to Vegas (We had already scheduled our vacation around the SHOT (Shooting, Hunting, & Outdoor Trade) Show. We got our license and got married on the strip (after the SHOT Show was over). My best friend and his wife (who introduced us) were the best man and maid of honor.
Now she uses my benifits, and we could not be happier.
Bottom line is when you marry the right woman, life is pure heaven!!!!! It dosen't matter where or how you are married.

Sorry... I don't have any ideas for ya. In fact, I'd be the one to highjack you to the nearest strip club and try to change your mind!!!
Best wishes
Eddie
She ought to remember that for life. Get mug shots to remember the moment with!

My buddy and his girlfriend went to Paris on vacation, and he surprised her with a proposal at a "temple of love" (something like that) at Versailles.

I didn't get down on one knee -- I would have drowned. ;)
But we had been to two (yes two) weddings that day..(Of course, come to think of it, one wedding was a second wedding, the other was a third (which has already ended!))
And I have been to Medieval Times in Kissimmee, FL...was there over ten years ago -- fun when you're young and drunk.
Actually - here's a real good thing to do
Take her out for a very nice meal at a top-flight restaraunt. Visit the rest. earlier in the week. Give them your credit card number, introduce yourself, expain that you are going to propose at their place . Have the Host and waiters greet you and your girlfriend by name (hello Mr.so in so and Ms. So in so, nice to see you.) See if they can provide champagne or a wine that your girlfriend enjoys so it is served right after you are seated. Also have roses ready at the table.
Most high-class joints are happy to oblige and will have other suggestions. You provide the credit card in advance so that they can make purchases, and that you don't worry about money when proposing.
Get on one knee, say something unforgettable, such as "I am the type of person who has always enjoyed life, but everything I do is more enjoyable when you are a part of it. I would love for you to be a part of me life forever...will you marry me"
Or something dang corny like that.
forget all the grand-standing stuff. Find a romantic spot to take the vette and don't worry about doing anything involved. You can always go to a fancy dinner after or before.
i asked my wife in my 75 on lookout mountain in Denver Co. on a cold clear stary night overlooking the city lights.
it was simple but awesome.
its one reason i will never sell that car. One of many memories.

Here is a short version of how I proposed.
We had our first date on New Years, so that is the day I chose. I was working that day, and Tanya was staying home, so it worked out great.
She woke up in a bed full of rose petals, with a single rose beside her with a note explaining that there would be a scavenger hunt starting at 2:00 pm, when she would call me for the first clue. Every hour after that she would follow the clue given to her on the previous rose. All the clues were related to our lives together, and the roses were hidden throughout the house and garage. We stayed home that night, cooked a wonderful gourmet dinner, and had a bottle of Dom on ice. At 11:55 I sang her the song I had written to her while I played the guitar, and at midnight I got down on one knee, gave her the last rose and proposed. We were married in Jamaica in September 2003.
Good luck on whatever you chose and I wish you both the best of luck.

Do what I did - stall long enough until SHE asks you ..... She'll never forget it. Trust me.
