Default Praise for Midas Mufflers

:hurray: Midas San Clemente shop manager Danny Cabrera provided excellent customer service and fabricated my offset exhaust pipes. I just brought in my sketch with measurements for 3’ and 3&1/2” offsets between collectors and the pipes at trans xmember. For $40 I got three offsets – one as spare (which of course I used after bumbling a cut).
After fit up, Midas also welded my new offset pipes to the collector pieces eliminating the need for clamps there. I tried clamps but one rubbed on the passenger side floor fiberglass and I had already made one repair there.
Midas really came through here as the local exhaust specialty shop said they couldn’t make the bends tight enough. More likely they couldn’t make $300 for a full system. And the $20 I spent at Pep Boys for convoluted tubing I’d like to forget about. :yesnod:

I had a different experience.. I bought and entire exhaust system for a big block car from a corvette vendor. I recieved everthing except the right hand muffler which was back ordered. After two months it was still on back order so I called around and located a direct replacement at a Midas shop. I bought the muffler and installed the system. ONE year later when I sold the car, the only rusty piece on the entire exhast system was the Midas muffler. I am glad you had a good experience.

I went to a Midas and had them quote me $50 per side to put on 2 mufflers (with C-Clamps) basically the only thing I really needed them for was cutting off the old ones, welding on 2 to 2 1/2" pipe and the mufflers just U-bolted on.

Checked out a local hotrod shop and they asked for half that price without even looking at the car.

Many Midas shops are independently owned and operated by local people, so it sort of depends on who owns and operates one of them as to the type of service you get. I've had very good service from the one closest to my house, they have welded things for me and sold me parts very reasonably.
Your mileage may vary.
