Re: L88 engine for $15,000??????? (Corey 68)
Well if it's on Pee-bay, it's gotta be real! :lolg: Unless you're tracking down a certain engine #, you can build one for a lot less. Buyer beware. :yesnod:
That one makes at least 200 documented '67's.

Engine has approximately 30 minutes run time on test stand since August 2003 build. Engine does not leak, smoke, knock or run hot. It holds 50+ psi oil pressure at idle.

Re: L88 engine for $15,000??????? (Guru_4_hire)
I believe this is the same engine we saw in Knoxville at EXPO the other day. If so I looked at this engine and the ZL-1 I told DEP about was in the trailer.
[QUOTE]What are the odds that this is one of the original 20 L88's made??
zero to one? He says no vin. So if he is claiming anything (and I can't tell what he is claiming) it would be an over the counter engine. Weren't they available back then? MJ

There were 20 Corvettes ordered with the L-88 in 1967. That doesn't mean GM only made 20 engines. There were others that were never installed in a Corvette but rather sold as crate engines to such places as Baldwin Motors. That could be why this engine has no VIN stamped on it. Still it's too much $$ unless you own one of the 20 cars and need an engine for a correct restoration.
