I have always heard that two ZL-1's were made in the 1969, making it the rarest Vette. Question is that I know Roger Judski owns the yellow one but who or where is the second one? All of the books on Vettes mention the fact of two being built...... Thanks!
I recall seeing the yellow one at the Otis Chandler Museum in Camarillo, CA some years back (maybe a couple times). Otis also had the most extensive collection of hemis, but he sold off much of the entire collection to change over to vintage motorcycles.
I also recall that one was purchased from the police as confiscated in a drug bust in FLA. If memory serves, the car was auctioned and going price was somewhere around $330,000.
ONLY 2 ZL1 cars------wrong
I call the NCRS on this subject when I got my 69 vette to find out how many where made. They said they have 5 original ZL1 vettes in there club listings and all show up at different shows. ZCRS said that they have no way of knowing how many were made, hense the poor records that were kept. He said the restoration books should say that that now 5 were found, not that only 2 were made.
