Had our first rain and my wiper door wouldnt open. Pulled it open by hand then it wouldnt shut when I turned wipers off. I rebuilt engine with 262 cam and before engine rebuild everything worked fine, lights, door etc..
I've noticed the lights have been slugish and acting funny at times. One wont go down, take longer to come up and so on.
I think at idle my old vacuum was around 18-19, now I'm around 15. Would that be the problem? Is there a minimum needed to operate everything and can I boost vacuum somehow besides playing with idle settings? Any suggestions appreciated. THX

Re: wiper door not working, low vacuum problem? (Surfer69)
You may have a developed a leak somewhere. I have the same cam in my car and everything seems to work good for me. Mine idles around 650 RPM so it is low vacuum also. If I am going down the road the wiper door will pop up quickly. My headlights are another thing. My vacuum reservoir is leaking somewhere. Do a few checks and see where your leak may be. Undo the vac lead at the reservoir to your wiper door and apply vac with a source and see how your door acts at this point. Work your way around and you may find the source of your leak. Hopefully this will help.
