Default Trying to make a decision

Last week I ran into a guy with a 77 vette that was wasted in the front end. The vette was set up for nitrous on a 383 stroker motor that looked real good. The interior of the car was in real good shape. I I told the guy that I would buy the car, with the intention of using the engine and transmission in my 64 Nova, and set up a time to give him the money. Later in the week, while looking for a new frame for my step son,s 4 x 4 I came across a 74 vette, A complete car with running motor and trashed interior. And I mean VERY trashed. The only part that is still good in the interior of this car is the speedo and tac. Every thing else is broken or missing. The body on the other hand is great. No stress cracks and one minor fender break where he probaly clipped a curb. The price 2250.00. Between the two cars you could have a nice car. However, The parts car deal is falling apart. The guy I was to buy it from called and said he was running late and to give him another hour. He never showed. He is a tow truck driver and it was the first serious snow fall of the season, so I am thinking he is just real busy. But since then I have called his cell and left messages on numerous occasions. Still no return calls. It is like he dropped off the face of the planet.
So now I am faced with should I buy and try to rebuild or will it cost to much to get a return on the investment.
I Guess that the advice that I am looking for from the forum is what you think it would cost to bring this non number matching vette back to life and still save my skin.

I like to buy cars that someone else has already dump a ton of money into and is selling at an overall loss. So, the car you found would not be attractive to me.

I would keep looking. :skep:

:iagree:

The project cars are just too expensive, in the long run. I dumped so much into my 77, that I thought I got a great deal on, it sickens me. So I don't think about it.

I say keep looking.
