Default Stall Speed???

How can I find out my Stall speed. I do not know what kind of Torque Converter is on my vette. here is what I can tell you though. 3 speed Auto, rebuilt 350 bored .30 flathead pistons, Comp Cam 9.5:1, Edelbrock Performer high rise intake, holly dominator 650, MSD Distributor / Ignition, 3.08 Rear.

put the car in drive, then left foot firmly on the brake. now right foot on gas and slowly push gas pedal down. watch your rpm's the point just before the car overcomes the braking and starts moving is your stall speed.

How acurate is this method? Just wondering if this could have different results depending on the brakes? Not at all saying this isn't accurate, because I personnaly have no idea. I do appreciate any suggestions.

The method is very innaccurate, but its about the best you can do. Take the same converter and put it behind different engines, and the measured "stall speed" will be different each time. The ratings in catalogs are more of a relative guideline between different models of the same manufacturer
