Default What is this part?




I'm looking at buying an 81. Have looked at several, and some have this part and others don't. It seemed like the autos had it but the 4-speeds didn't, but I'm just guessing. Thanks.

I think it is called a cruise control servo.

Thanks Pressurerat. Looking at a car out of state and only have pics to go by. Comparing pics of stock engines to pics of this car's engine, I noticed this part missing. I guess I can assume that this car has had its cruise removed. :(

Or maybe the factory never installed the cruise control option on that car.

Cruise Control was an option starting in 1977. It was only available on cars with automatics until 1981 I believe. Then it could be gotten with 4-speed cars.

82s came with cruise also but you have to look for the ervos on those because the general put them in the fenderwell

That's the cruise control Vacuum servo and the regulator should be under the left fender. The vacuum servo holds the throttle in position when the cruise control is activated.
