I was expecting to have to rip out and replace everything. Well it's not as bad as I had thought, I wish I had taken pictures before I started. Lets put it this way the entire interior was covered with 2" of 36 years of scum, everything was brown. The carpeting is actually save-able, no rips just faded and I'm dynamite with black spray paint. Using degreaser, pot scrubber and lots and lots of Eagle One Wet tire shine I have from the back of the seats forward looking almost show ready. the only things with damage is a scratched shifter plate and the driver's side door panel has a small rip at the rear upper section.
The hardtop is so flawless all I had to do is put a coat of wax on it. the headliner is beautiful the weather striping is supple and flawless. find it incredible that this part is over 36 years old. if it wasn't for the markings I would have assumed this is some sort of aftermarket top that's a few years old. simply amazing.
Tommorow I tackle the rear of the car. Getting done in one day is dependant on whether I decide to keep the sterio already in it or rip it and the dash out and put the Alpine/ boston Acoustic sterio from the 77 back in.
That looks awesome, from the pictures the interior looks as nice as cali 77. I have a question about the paint though, is it a special paint or did u just use prupleish black spray paint
Nope it's just black rustoliem vinyl spray paint, that purplish color is the old faded carpet. Look between the seats and you can see the area I haven'tgot to yet.
Just noticed - what's up with the January sticker in the windshield? Does the DMV require a smog check to register an out-of-state car regardless of the 1974 cutoff year?

Nope just a temp to allow me to drive the car to DMV to verify VIN matches the title VIN#.
One question: could you take some detailed pics of the "behind the seats" portion of the interior too? My interior is also pretty good, but there is no carpeting, no trim, no nuttin' behind the seats/under the top.
If you wanna email them, that would be great! Either way, if you can provide any type of info on what it should look like, it would help out a lot!
That looks awesome!! Cali could you visit South Carolina? My car is needing a little help in the interior department!! Haha. Seriously that does look really nice  .
Yep it's night and day. I wish I had more patience. There is so much to do. I haven't even touched the engine bay yet, plus there's a miss. one day at a time. I'm hoping for May I have it show presentable, except paint. (please understand I mean local car gatherings not NCRS stuff I'm way far off the quality alot of you guys are already at)
That's a real nice job yall have done. I wish I had a helper like you do. Mine just walks into the garage and says "She sure is shiny". She won't even go to a car show with me. However, if she did go, I couldn't take my "oops" pics and ogle the car show gals. Nice goin on your new digs too. Man, some guys just have it all...
