Leaking Rear or Maybe not??
Last year I pulled the rear out because it was leaking from the passengerside yolk seal and sent it out for a rebuild.. Had 3:54 gears put in along with new/rebuild yolks. After reinstalling this past spring I noticed spotting under the car and sure enough the same side yolk seal was oozing down the pumpkin. I spoke to the place that did the work who openly said to send it back and they would redo the seal and check yolk.. BUT I didn't want the car down during my prime driving months so we agreed to do this.. well now.. Nov-Dec.. I'm still under warrantee.. Problem.. Over the last few months I haven't noticed it leaking.. :confused: I still have fluid in the pumpkin but it's not leaking.. SO... what would you do? Since it was out last year taking it out again should be easier since all the hardware is new but it's still a PITA.. Thoughts?

I have a pinion leak from a differential I did a couple of months ago. I used good seals and #2 on the pinion splines but it still has a weeping oil leak. I'm goingot replace it next Spring whenit gets back to 70* again.

I would recommend against using brake cleaner on the seal. The cleaner is very hard on the rubber, can cause problems. Clean it up the best you can with a rag, then dust it with flour, that will show signs of leakage very quickly.
