I just recently installed a new cam that has .465in of lift with valve springs good for .490in of lift on regular vortec heads. I noticed that I had to keep on adjusting the rockers to tighten them. I evetually ran out of threads trying to tighten them (while engine was running). I checked the cam and the lobes are fine so I know they did not wear down. This happened on all of the studs on my heads. I put a straight edge on the studs to see if they were the same height and I noticed them to be all at different heights. If my studs did get pulled out of the heads how much will it cost to get screw in studs for my heads? Also is there any other machining that is needed on the heads for this cam? Thanks for the help.

I would have them machined for screw in studs....but if your on a tight budget you can pin the studs, drill thru the stud boss into the stud and drive in a roll pin :smash:
