Default convertible hardtop deck lid attchment nuts / inserts ?

Hello

I bought a hardtop for my 68.
Unfortunately, the deck lid does not have the top ctr attachment bolt insert nuts.
Can they be retrofitted and who offers this inserts ?
The pic is of an other car, but shows this insert nuts very well.

Thanks. Gunther :seeya

Hi

Thanks for your mail.
I contacted DRREBUILD and he replied as well.
Is this gentleman always so grumpy ?
His reply wasn't helpfull at all.
His internet site is also full of complains from him against all other part sellers.
Must be difficult to deal with . Any experience ?

I've bought items from his company and have gotten good service. Never had any communication with him directly. I to have read where he is grumpy, but I am looking for parts, not friendship. I bought the pieces shown in the picture, but as far as the center piece that holds the rear bow down, 68 did not have it. That was an update for later years. I to had bought a 68 top for my 71 and I bought the metal corner pieces and the center piece for the bow was used. I had to drill a hole in the deck lid and install the ferrel. It did help in removing the gap between the weatherstrip and deck.

simple hardware available at the hardware store! I bought 2 bolts and washers that work great..... what did I pay, 39 cents each? I can't remember. What size? fine thread.... 20? Can't remember that either. The hardtop itself has rubber flaps that hide the bolts after you install them, so you can't even see the bolts when installed, that is if you actually cared that the bolt head is slightly different from stock. :) MJ

reareading your post, not sure what you are missing. Do you have a top for a later year that has a center attaching post? I wouldn't drill a hole in the center of my 68 decklid to accomodate a non 68 top.

Hi

I bought a top with the center post, but will remove it as 68 did not have it.
I'm missing the deck lid nuts as shown on the pic. ( it is not from my car ).
So, actually the nuts ( insert nuts ) and of course the bolts.

I have problems to open up the DRREBUILD internet page . It stops after showing the scetches and is missing the part numbers and prices.
So I asked Mr. DRREBUILD per E-mail to help me out and his reply was something like " can't remember all my 28.000 pieces, you must supply the P/N "
Thanks a lot. But I guess, if I want this parts, he seems to be the only one offering them.

I'm not in a hurry, so I will get this sooner or later.

Thanks a lot. Gunther :seeya

How can I make this P/N's show on his web page ? http://www.docrebuild.com/dr-r-web/HARDTOP.PDF
