Holley carb question on throttle linkage

Holley carb question on throttle linkage
I put a Holley 4150 carb, mechanical secondaries and manual choke on my 78 vette and removed the q-jet.
I want to hook my cruise transducer up to it but the hole in the linkage is to small for the cruise stud to fit in. Is it alright just to drill it out some? Now the hole for the accelerator cable stud will also be to small for I had it in the other hole where it fit to start with. I bought a stud kit and the thread that will fit in the hole, the ball on the end is to big to go on the accelerator cable.
Should I just drill them out a little and be done with it or not.
