Default Rotor runout

Just had both front rotors machined. The one on the car was'nt too bad but the one on the mat was at about .010" before machining. Also just removed rear trailing arms, Can anybody tell me the best way to get them back in as i'm not looking foreward to the reinstall. :banghead:

In the last couple of weeks I have had my trailing arms in and out at least a dozen times for test fitting. I found that a good pair of pliers, not needle nose but flat pliers will grasp the through bolt. I align the trailing arm with a screw driver, lift the other spring end as high as possible and reaching under the trailing arm with the pliers I grasp the bolt and have really good luck sliding it into the hole.
Like I said I do this alot with installing coil overs so I have had lots of practice.
Do not install the rotor or caliper first. Keep the weight down.
Install the shims last after the through bolt in installed.

Thanks for the info. When explained like that you make it sound easy.
Is there a set distance between centre-to-centre of trailing arms as when i removed the right side trailing arm months ago the shims got a bit mixed up.

What I do is use some dental floss and tie a loose knot in the end of the bolt. I fish it through with a coat hanger then pull the dental cloth/bolt through.
Works good.

C3-81 it is easy once you get the hang of it. Luckily you don't need to practice. I have done it so often it is a few minute job with the pliers. I have never tired Gary's method but a few others use this method.
The shims are important. When I start from scratch I use a lazer level on the rotor to get the trailing arm pointed straight ahead but take it to an alignment shop. I take an assortment of my own shims to the shop because I doubt if many shops will have the shims in stock. I always use stainless shims. Being everything is fresh it is not a difficult job for the alignment guy but if the vet is old and nothing freed it is a miserable job.
