I've looked in the catalogs but can't find a carb adapter that allows a square bore carb to be mounted on a spread bore pattern Performer intake. Does one exist????
Eddie
If you have an edelbrock manifold you can use edelbrock part number 2732 which is a very thin adapter plate, like 1/16 thick. If you have a stock q-jet intake, you can use a mr gasket #1932 which is 1" thick.
Re: Spread Bore To Square Manifold?? (PRESSURERAT)
Thank You pressurerat. I bought a spreadbore pattern Performer cheap...and don't want to put my old Q-Jet back on or limit my options to spreadbores as I look at new carbs.
Thanks again

Re: Square Bore To Spread Manifold?? (Silvr77)
:nono: I think you can save your money slvr77. Every Edelbrock performer intake for the sb Chevy I know of accepts spread bore and/or square bore carbs. Yep, an enlarged plenum hole and extra set of bolt holes to fit either carb. :yesnod: Now the Performer RPM is different and won't accept both.
BTW those adapters work poorly and reduce performance. I'd change intakes first if at all possible. :yesnod:

I'll have to check it again, but I test fit an Edelbrock 750 on the intake, and the primaries were binding. May have been misalligned.....Thanks
