I want to install polished aluminum water pump and crank pulleys on my 81. Because I have installed dual spal fans March doesn't recommend their underdrive pulleys. (charging issue). The problem here is getting the correct water pump pulley, (correct offset, 3/4 pilot). I called Zoops, Billet Specialties and street & performance and only S&P possibly has the correct water pump pulley. They are supposed to get back to me whether theirs will work? They list one that sounds like it will work. The owner thinks it is for later models? I know some of you guys are running them. What did you use? Are the crank pulleys the same as a standard SBC crank pulley? BTW I am not running the A/C on my car. Thanks for any info.

Re: Aluminum Pulley Question (1979toy)
I have the March pulleys on mine with one electric fan. I have had no problems with the electrical system at all so far. The crank pulley is smaller so everything that is driven off the crank goes slower.
i have the March serpintine kit. it is for street use, so the alt is normal speed, power steering is slower and the water pump is a little faster. it is a good kit, but a major pain in the butt to add power steering fluid, cap is covered by the water pump leg. i know they also make the kit in regular v-groove, so maybe there is hope at March. i have the march underdrive crank pulley on 70 with a 100amp alt at an idle with brights on and the radio booming (2500 watts system) it runs everything
there is no charge or discharge but as soon as i start going i get about 30 amps of charge.
