hi guys. doing the winter tune up thing and need some input on plug wires. car still has original metal cover over the distributer and the wires run under the exhaust. well , headers are also going on this year , so will run over the rocker cover wiring. figure if i get some precut for the vette, they should only be 3 or 4 miles too long. sooo, any suggestions on what to use that will be closer in length to what i need?? maybe just some 77 chevy wires?? thanks for any help here fellas. regards, fng
easy for you to say :D DUUHHHH, never entered my mind, must be having continued senior moments. thanks shaker. are they available at an auto parts store or do i have to order them?? thanks again, regards, fng
what about all the hype of MSD and Accel? i am very close to having mine running again. ihave a proform dist. pushing 50k volts i was also wondering what wires and plugs to go with.
thanks

I am sure that all wires mentioned are very good. I just like Taylor wires. And I am very sure that MSD brand is also a very good brand so just take your pick. The only wire that I do disagree with is Accell wires. Never did like them. As far as the lock Auto Zone I do not think you can. But if there is a local speed shop I am sure they would have them or just order from your favorite online source. JEGS, Summit, or anywhere else that might carry them I am sure there are allot of people here with there favorite online source.
I just installed a set of Accel "red" super stock spiral wires 8MM 90degree, eazy to make to any length paid 39.99 at o'rielys :smash: they look good and run good for me :steering: bushog
I have had Accel, Taylor, and MSD on my 71. The Accels came with the car and were not fitted correctly as well as being 180 degrees and too close to headers, other than that at there age they leaked a bit. The taylors were "fit em all" kind, you crimp the ends, never again will I buy wires that are not allready made up, besides that they were leaking through the insulation within a year. Bought the MSD wires this past spring pre made with the variable boots, you bend the spark plug end to the angle you need. I am VERY satisfied with the MSD's and they were reasonably priced as well.
La vetteman. You lost me a tad there lol. On the Taylors I have used the only end you had to cut was the end that would go in the distributor cap not both ends.
