the guy that bought the corvette out from under me 2 weeks ago came into my office today offering me a red 79 vette 140,000miles supposedly new exhaust, paint, and flawless frame for $5500
I just got back from test driving it and it ran OK....when I would punch the gas it would bogg down right away and then start picking up speed!...is this from the carb??
thats all the guy kept saying was it was the orginal carb that he had rebuilt and supposedly the guys rebuilding didnt know what he was doing.....
the AC didnt work he said it was dissconnected when he bought it....
the radio and radiater fan kept shorting out....he said it was from a bad ground wire and he didnt fell like searching for it...
the turns signals had a short somewhere also...
so now the actual question is....would i be getting ripped off??
Paid 5k for my 79. Maybe a little high. Especially when I found I had to do more work than I originally new it needed. Mileage about the same. I'd offer maybe 4 and be sure your ready to do some work. Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying doing mine. I will make it what I want eventually, just like everyone else on this forum who don't drive their cars
