My situation. The current cam I inherited is the Ebrock Perf 2102 (duration 204/214; lift .42 int/.442 exh). I KNOW it isn't enough for the AFR180 heads I have.
The question is: should I replace the cam or run 1.6 rollar-rockers for more lift ???????????
The rockers will give you more lift but if you go for a new cam you can order one that is made to match the rest of your the setup. It may be easier to put the rockers on but they come with there own set of issues. Will you have to remove steel from the heads so the rods won't hit anything?
Unless you want a very tame engine, like you said with your good heads, that cam just isn't enuf. Even if you bump the lift up to the .46/.47 range, you're
still quite low on duration. check out the following articles - the Comp Cams
XE 262 or XE 268 are both excellent power cams. The XE 262 makes very close to the same power, more lower & mid range torque, than the XE 268. However, the 268 might match your heads just a tad better, but it would be still a weaker low end combo. Check out these articles. On the dyno sheets, go to the bottom and you'll see there are LOTS of dyno tests, one will likely come close to your combo. There are some that have the XE cams. Also, go to http://www.compcams.com and look at their own dyno sheets and you'll see the 262 and 268 cams are very close. http://www.corvettefaq.com/c3/goodwr...20part%201.htmhttp://ryanscarpage.50megs.com/combos2.htmlhttp://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/7610/dyno.htm
