I am finishing the install of my long L88 hood on my 69. It replaces the short style hook and also replaces the vacum operated wiper cover. I am hoping someone has pictures of an install. Specifically what did you do with the clips that mount to the fenders that are supposed to line up with the new hood. Trying to see if this is going to look good with this fender trim or if I need to fabricate something. Thanks for the help and any pictures you might have that show this.
I have a L 88 on my 69, and man does it look great. I put the fender molding on and it matches up to the hood pretty good. I have pics on yahoo photos under nsirobert. I can't get the link to work right now. I will try tomorrow at work. I think it is http://www.photos.yahoo.com/nsirobert This hood looks very
Hi
I have a long style L88 hood on my 68. The fender moldings are removed and something is missing.
I heard that the only right looking wqay is to build up the fender top lips with polyester in order to match them to the hood.
The moldings somehow never look compatible.
By the way, I'm looking for a set of this stainless moldings as I intend to reinstall the short hood and the wiper door. My moldings are missing. :nopity
You can have my stainless moldings if I end up fabricating something to make the line right. They are factory 69 and in great shape. Just email me in a day or so and I will know what I am going to do.
I removed my trim pieces and built mine up with fiberglass (actually only one side done). I'll try to post some pictures later today. Not painted yet so you can see the new glass on the old. If there is enough interest, I guess I could do the other side and post a step by step? I can't tell you the right way, but I can show you the RT way.
