Can I install front clip myself?
We have to get a new front clip for our 79, what im wondering is if it can be done by mysef and some other people helping me out, or do i have to take it down to a shop to do it? i REALLY dont want to spend $1000s of dollars if i can do it myself, but then again i dont want to screw anythign up. :smash: :smash: :cheers:

It can be done with the help of some friends and some jack stands. Be sure to put the hood on first and then line up the body lines . You can always rise the hood if needed but you can't make it go lower to match fenders and nose pc. Good luck.

:iagree: Don't be a rush just take your time---one thing that help me is get a set of ratchet wrenches it'll help out in the tight space---
Just looked at sears ther're called ratcheting wrenches--sears is kind of pricey--I think I got mine at Target for $10

I just finished putting a new front clip on my '69. I think you can do it, but not without the expert advice of someone that has done it before. I'm speaking of a friend or one of the how-to books by Eckler's or Glas-Ra (Schiro) sold in some of the vette parts catalogs. There are too many alignment issues to try it without some help. I ended up with two copies of the Schiro books that I will give you a deal on if you're interested. I ordered copies from one of the vendors and then found out it was the same as the one I already had. Just my 2 bits worth.
