Is this a stock 81 Vette exhaust manifold/header?
The header pictured below would be a perfect match for my custom project. I know there are better aftermarket parts out there but for what I am doing this would work fine. I got this picture from someone who says it is a stock manifold from an 81 Corvette, and the A.I.R. tubes have been removed. Is this truely a stock 81 vette manifold?
If not, what is it from? It does appear to be a factory part.

Yep, looks like 'em, minus the air tubes and heat shields. I have a pair in the same condition. Tubes cut off and welded shut, then ceramic coated. They are nice shorty headers for a project. Not sure I'd put them on a 'vette I was trying to get performance out of. My pair currently reside on a 53 Chevy truck with a 327 in it. The truck is still in the project stage, so I don't know how they perform. I wouldn't think they were much better than cast iron rams horns that were on older 'vettes, but I could be wrong about that.

Yep, that's a factory 81 vette manifold. Pretty good design from what I see, but just a little too restrictive and sloppy on the insides. But the nice thing is that they stay away from the spark plug wires....
