Default Engine parts list, can anyone decipher?

I've had my vette for 2 yrs, and just found a partial parts list stuck under the driver's seat. It's all greek to me. Is anyone bored enough to take a look and see if any useful info is contained here? (the block and head numbers weren't on the list, I'll try and find them when I get some more daylight)

Pistons are flat top hypereutectic less than 10:1 compression with 64cc heads. Valves are good size meaning heads could be anything from fair to excellent performance, more info is needed. Can't find cam but could be mechanical / solid cam, sure you have the right numbers. Motor is a 350ci right ?

What is the date on the parts list ?

Edelbrock 2101 Intake Manifold

This is the Performer dual plane.....good for idle to 5500rpm and is a good street intake........

Blue Racer WG-5043K Cam,Lifters

This is your cam........Blue Racer is part of Crane Cams.....the lifters and cams were sold as a package.....but I can't find any specs for it.......

GM Hi-Performance 010 Block

This may be referring to casting number 3970010, which was used from 69-79 on a lot of Chev cars and trucks including the Vette......this could be your original block......at any rate is been bored over 40 thou........

These are all good quality aftermarket parts and even without knowing cam specs or compression, I'd say you'd be making 300+hp......

you should be able to search the manufacturers websites or e-mail them for more detailed specs.....

Hope this helps

The specs on a Blue Racer WG-5043K cam is 260/270 advertised 194/204 at 0.050 with .398/.420 lift. Generally refered to as their towing/rv cam. A lot of low end torque.

Thanks for the info, guys. The previous owner said he swapped out the motor about 7 years ago. He also said he had the cam changed in the new motor because he didn't like the one first installed. (about the only things I believe out of all the stuff he claimed.) So I'm pretty sure it is not the original. The block casting number is 3970014. The passenger side pad is smooth, no stamping visible. Will be checking head numbers later.

Just got numbers off of heads: 3970126, with a date code of \8 30, a cast "clock" pointer @ 7 o'clock postion  What does this mean?

3970126 are 1967-70 327 heads with 1.94"intake & 1.5" exhaust valves.......

your date code \8 30 doesn't make sense........should be a Letter=month, 2 digits=day, 1 digit=year.....as in "A 14 9"........which decodes as Jan 14 1969...........please try again......

........the casting clock refers to the time it was cast during a shift.....
