Default Core Support Question

I have a 72 Vette, 350,auto. My core support is shot and I need a replacement. I have found a core support for a 4 speed car. I can tell that the lower right bracket on the 4 speed car is in a different location than on the auto car. Other than that, are these supports the same? Could I relocated the lower bracket on the 4 speed core support to match that of my auto radiator.
Also, how could I mount a "universal" aluminum radiator in the 4speed support and add an extra trans cooler, If I decided to go that direction?

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

You might try:
http://www.dewitts.com/

He is a Forum vendor and is very knowledgeable, especially given your desire to fit a different radiator and remote transmission oil cooler. You might search the archives, I think several folks have fitted aftermarket transmission oil coolers.

If the lower right mount is moved over a little then it's the big block support. The only different between the 69-72 small block and bb is the location of the lower "u" bracket. You could cut it off and move it over 1.5" and you have a small block. Or I sell the brand new one for $278

As far as the radiator with automatic, I have one with a little ding in one of the tubes but other than that it new. $300 out the door.

Note that this small block radiator actually had a "dent" in the lower tube for clearing the suspension. Doubt the universal has that!
