Testing Gauges ? 69
Thanks,
Joe
vary the input between ground and 90 ohms will give you empty to full.
Other side of the gauge to 13.8 volts.
Cant help with the Ammeter- my AIM shows the 2 wires going back to the regulator and ground.
BTW, when does Cali 1 get out of it's container?
I see two terminals and ground on the fuel gauge ....I'll go and figure out what's +ve and give it try.
Also the needle is heavily damped...do you think that's normal?
I paid for freight and duty today...should be at Fantasy Junction by Wednesday, I'll let you know.
Thanks,
Joe :D
The pink wire is power from the fuse box.
The tan wire is from the sender. I am pretty sure the ground is required for the gauge to work.
thanks, Fuel Gauge checks out OK! Ammeter appears to work but obviously indicates +\- 40A at much lower currents on the bench, reacting to a signal from the inbuilt regulator in the alternator. I say obviously, because the wiring to the gauge is definitely not 40A stuff!
Looks like I've got a full set of gauges working for my 69 project...even the clock.
Thanks again,
Joe
